JUG Nagpur meet

Hello,Yesterday, i.e., on 30th Aug,08 there was meeting of JUG-Nagpur. It was second meeting and this time it was in our college. JUG Nagpur stands for JAVA User Group of Nagpur. Its first meeting was at Infospectrum Office about a month ago, in which I was also present. It has a mailing list on which different types of questions are asked related to JAVA. The JAVA users who know the solution reply to the thread created. This time the meeting was to be held at our college. It was a bit difficult for me to arrange things because I had been in OVERNIGHT competitions from last 2 nights( as I have mentioned in other blog). But I was awake anyhow and prepared presentation, set up Skype, downloaded and installed SUN SPOT Manager, arranged for the mike and speakers, refreshments and many more things with the help of 2 of my classmates and 2 seniors. The main topics which were discussed are as follows:• The logo of JUG Nagpur was proposed by some of the members including me( see the pic).• Our HOD , Prof M.B.Chandak gave idea of spreading group by sending some students of our college to other colleges and make them aware.• Also he gave idea of having a full day workshop if there are more queries by students on Mailing List.• Another important point of meeting was an online presentation and conferencing with Mr Rohan Ranade, employee SUN Microsystems from USA.• He gave presentation on GUI Bloopers. It was a really nice presentation and especially for students like us who are still to come in market as developers. It was a nice interactive session.• Mr Tushar Joshi of Infospectrum gave a nice speech on various issues about JUG Nagpur Group.• Another important part was demo and basics of SUN SPOTs which is a small programmable device. Some applications using Sun Spots were shown.• Then at last we concluded the meeting by deciding to have our next meet probably on last Sunday of September followed by some refreshments. This was all about our II meet of JUG Nagpur which had over 20 of its members present. Hope to see the group goes well and help us to clear our doubts on JAVA.
