Going IIT-Powai...

HelloI am going iit-mumbai in its tech-fest to attend a workshop on Open-Source and other languages being taught and also to take part in a event.The workshop will provide with basic concepts about Open-Source and other uncommon languages which include JAVA too.the other languages are Ruby,Prolog,Haskell,AspectJ etc.Company DIRECTI, which is a big contributer in Open-Source, will also interact with us.Other details i will write after coming from Tech-Fest.

Results Of WAD...

After a long and tiring WAD for 7 days, at last we got our rankings.
The raking was based on everyday performance in G.D.-P.I., extempore, punctuality, add campaign and other tests which were taken everyday.
On the final day, the judges were from industries located in and around nagpur.
On the whole, i got 33rd rank out of total 250+ students which were from 14 different colleges. All those who got rank under 50, including me, were given results on the stage by chief-guest.
I have learned a lot from this workshop and i hope to go into organising team next year.

Utilising Vacations

Hello,I m really enjyng and utilizing my vacations. I hav joined a Workshop On Aptitude Development (popularly WAD) from 24th to 29th Nov,08.its really very nice till now and slowly i m loosing my STAGE FEAR vich i had a bit. G.D.s and apti tests are superb.A "add campaign" is given to us to improve our group activities.There are 1 or 2 lecturer sessions everyday from experts in their relative domains.Really the guest lecturers are eminent speakers frm in and around Maharashtra.I had made many new friends and its increasing rapidly as there are 14 colleges participating and our sitting arrangements are changed twice a day randomly. Also schedule is very tight. Official timings are from 8am to 8pm but to promote and prepare our advertisement task we remain in clg frm 6:30 am to 8:30 pm. As only 2 days have passed so its early to say what i hav gained but i hope d list will b countless aft d whole workshop....

Workshop on Open Source,Virtual Box and Sun Spots

I have attended a superb workshop on Open Source,Virtual Box,Sun Spots and Networking....it was a 3 day seminar frm 12th to 14th Nov,08 in our college by Jai Bhaiya and other seniors.Mr. Rohan Ranade,employee in Sun Microsystems made a conferencing wid us from US and explained about Open Source.There was a session on virtual box installation and use.also we were taught to use Net Beans for programming.really Net Beans is much far better and easy than that boring boring blue console of turbo c.last session was superb.i was just amazed by seeing Sun Spots and its some of the applications.i really liked Sun Spots a great and i was thinking that there can be so many areas where it can be used.I will surely make a project on that in ma 5th sem.
